After several years of the same old web site, built with MS Frontpage, I've changed hosting providers and moved on to MS Expression Web. I've also moved on from being a contractor in Iraq to life as an employee of Cisco Systems, Inc.--although some people claim Cisco is more of a way of life than a job! So far it's been great, despite a few hiccups as the only Cisco International Assignee in Kuwait--and the resulting lessons learned.
I've moved on to Kuwait from Iraq--the job opening which Cisco had was there--and will be here for a total of a little over three years. So far, life in Kuwait is interesting. The living conditions are far better than Iraq--of course--and the pay is far less--as you might expect. I get to travel much more, although not to places I would were I scheduling a pleasure trip, like Afghanistan and Qatar.
I have the top floor of a villa, about 1,800 sq. ft. of living space with a balcony which is about 600 sq. ft.
Burj Khalifa, Dubai, UAE
The world's tallest building, an incredible 2.717 ft (828 m) tall, nearly half a mile! The observation deck, at 1,450 ft (442 m), is the highest observation deck in the world. The deck opened on January 5, 2010, I visited on January 23, and following a problem with an elevator on February 8, the deck was closed and remains closed.
